“Overall I wanted to express positivity, the main slogan of the collection: ‘Warrior not worrier’ reflects this, it highlights our and importance of believing we are stronger than our mental health.” – George David Hodgson, Founder.
Unlike most Thursday’s, last night saw me taking a very exciting journey up to London for the Maison De Choup SS17 launch party. After getting lost in the rain, Al and I were greeted by the sounds of DJ Ordio who immediately set a relaxed vibe which was perfect for mingling.
Of course, that little detour to the event itself left Al and I seeking some drinks to quench our thirst. The fantastic Josh Hayes was our mixologist for the evening and provided plenty of refreshing cocktails with a twist. My personal favourite has to be the ‘Breathe’ concoction which consisted of gin, lemon, soda and fresh raspberries. Of course, I couldn’t resist the sweet flavours of gin, triple sec, lemon, sugar and a slightly different touch which included egg white – otherwise known as ‘Resist’.
After soaking up the atmosphere, I decided to check out George’s latest designs for his new ‘Warrior Collection’. Unlike most fashion brands Maison de Choup donate a very generous 25% of their profits to Young Minds the UK’s leading mental health charity for children and young people alike.
What I love most about George, aside from his amazing achievements as an entrepreneur at the mere age of 21, is his incredibly brave decision to channel his own struggles with anxiety into a project that supports those who are in a similar position to himself. Perhaps this is one of the many reasons why his desire to convey positivity through his collection has been one that he has absolutely surpassed in more ways than one. I’m sure those who attended the event and had the opportunity to meet George will agree with me when I say he is such a likeable individual who I hope goes on to do many more collections in the not so distant future.
As for the rest of the evening well it consisted of delicious marshmallow goodness from the delectable Mallow and Marsh, more fantastic 90’s tunes, sipping some refreshing cocktails and meeting the lovely Caitlin from Glorious Chic and Emily from The Messy Edit.
Sadly, all good things must come to end and after making a sneaky little purchase, Al and I stepped back out into the hustle and bustle of London before making our way back home .

The Story behind Maison de Choup
The event was incredibly inspiring and I absolutely love the new collection. I feel privileged to have been invited to this event and I am very proud to be a supporter of both George Hodgson, his latest collection and Young Minds whose collaboration I think is fantastic. I will be sharing a little OOTD post featuring one of my favourite designs from the new SS17 Warrior Collection so keep your eyes open for that.
Have a great weekend.
Love Emma
