If you are anything like me, then chances are you have a whole closet full of clothes, shoes, bags and accessories. Yet you still find yourself muttering those famous words to yourself yet again – I have nothing to wear!
My Sister has always been amazing at Fashion. She always manages to find that gorgeous top in the sales and buy those fashion staples that instantly pull an outfit together. So what sets her apart from you and I? Well she always buys investment pieces and then builds her look around that – A capsule wardrobe of sorts.
So I thought I would share with you my fashion staples, those pieces I wear season after season. Those versatile pieces that transform a look from day to night and casual to business.
Bold Ruffles
This gorgeous top instantly puts me in a summery mood and was an absolute steal from Primark at £8. I like to mix and match it with my black or demin jeans and for the evening I just need to add my leather jacket, a pair of earrings and some heels.
Wedges
I have actually had these wedges for a few years now, but they ended up getting hidden at the back of my wardrobe and I have only just started to wear them out. Don’t you just love it when a trend comes round again. Proof that you should always have a few staples to fall back on.
Floral Summer Dresses and Nude Courts
Don’t you just love the colours on this gorgeous dress? After spending months trawling around the shops with poor Al, I finally found this absolute babe for a Summer Wedding. I just need to find an excuse to wear it again this year. Perhaps a summer party? I think the cut out detail on the back is so cute and instantly gives this ladylike dress an edge. I like to pair it with my nude courts for a more classy style. But I am thinking of pairing it with my mint pumps this season for a more relaxed and playful look.
Tribal Playsuit
This Tribal Playsuit is not only incredibly comfortable, but you can pop it on and voila your good to go, all you need to complete the look is a pair of shades, a few beaded necklaces and some gladiator sandles. Now where is the festival at?
A Pair of Colourful Pumps
Earlier this year I did actually pay an overdue visit to Primani (Primark to those of you who are not already devotees) and decided to invest in several pairs of ballett flats. They started at £3 a pair, yes you read that right £3! What are you waiting for, get down there now.
Tie Dye Kimono and Sparkly flats
This Kimono was a complete gamble as I had never owned a kimono before, but it has become one of my favourite pieces, the modest print means it goes great with jeans, shorts and just about anything. I like to pair it with my Promod vest, jeans and some sparkly flats for a relaxed vibe.
Nautical Inspired Jacket
I actually picked this jacket up when I was out working in Lisbon last year and I stumbled across a shop called ‘Promod’ and couldn’t believe it was only £15, I ended up wearing it back on my return flight and love to wear it when I want a more sophiscated look. I like to pair this with a nice black tank top and my Aspinal of London bag when I am out shopping.
Black Heels
These black flats are pratically the anwser to all of my prayers. Being a tall lady of 5ft 10in I often find it hard to find shoes that have a tiny heel and these are so comfy = winning!
Designer Handbag
I decided to purchase this bag as a little birthday treat to myself when I turned 26 and even to this day I am still in love with it. It has a beautiful pink linning and my initials on the outside. It is designed so that you can charge your Ipad and phone on the go. This was defiently an investment piece worth buying.
